Attractions & Sight Seeing in & Around Windsor
Windsor Castle dates back to the reign of William the Conqueror, is today the largest inhabited castle in the world and the primary residence of Her Majesty the Queen. A visit is an absolute must.
A superbly kept Lego theme park with rides and shows, ideally suited to children under 10 it is also extremely popular with families of all ages. Open from March through to November.
The Savill Garden is part of the Royal Landscape Gardens and one of the finest ornamental gardens in the UK. Open all year round these gardens really are a wonder to behold.
Theatre Royal Windsor
An intimate theatre with some truly memorable productions played here. Check the Theatre Royal website for shows and up coming events.
Windsor is a convenient place to stay if you are commuting or sightseeing in London. Trains from Windsor riverside run every half hour to Waterloo or from Slough there is a regular high speed link to Paddington.
Shopping in Windsor
If shopping is your passion, you’ve come to the right place. Windsor shopping is great. Lots of shops, yet not too big, so you are able to revisit those shops and purchase what you saw in the first one! Designer labels sit alongside department stores, antique and souvenir shops.

Golf Near Windsor
The area surrounding Windsor is littered with Golf Courses, not least Wentwoth PGA Golf Course and Sunningdale Golf Course, one of the oldest courses in the country dating back to 1899.
Other fantastic courses are Swinley Forest, The Royal Berkshire, East Berkshire and Millride Golf courses to name but a few.
Horse Racing & Horse Shows
Windsor and the surrounding area is renowned for it Equestrian events.
Royal Ascot is the highlight of the year for Ascot with the Queen attending daily. Numerous Races are held throughout the year with many events offering alternative entertainment such as Bands, fun fairs and family racing days. Visit www.ascot.co.uk to view the calendar for the year.
More low key than Ascot, yet just as much fun. Monday evening flat racing during the summer is particularly popular. River taxis ferry punters back and forth to Windsor town centre just a mile away.
Royal Windsor Horse Show
A wonderful mix of International Carriage Driving, Showing, Equestrian Displays, Show Jumping and International Endurance. There are classes for grass roots competitors right through to top international riders. It is set in the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle and is patronised by Her Majesty The Queen.

The Hinds Head
If the Fat Duck is not quite what you are looking for and you fancy something a little more relaxed, The Hinds Head in Bray (tel: 01628 626151) just down the road from The Fat Duck, is also owned by Heston and offers a fabulous eating experience too. Again booking is recommended.
The Waterside Inn
